Universal's fourth Mummy film has added three more cast members. Oded Fehr, Kevin J. O'Connor, and Numan Acar are joining the sequel, directed by Radio Silence's Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, according to Deadline.
Fehr will reprise his role as Ardeth Bay, the Medjai warrior who anchored much of the original film's mythology. O'Connor returns as Beni Gabor, the franchise's most memorable opportunist. Both characters appeared in the 1999 original, with Fehr also reprising in 2001's The Mummy Returns. Acar's role has not been disclosed.
The casting expands an ensemble already built around Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, returning as Rick and Evelyn O'Connell, and John Hannah as Evelyn's brother Jonathan. The production ignores 2008's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, treating this as a direct continuation of the first two films.
Radio Silence previously revitalized the Scream franchise with their 2022 and 2023 entries. Their Mummy script comes from David Coggeshall. "This is our opportunity, and fans of the originals' opportunity, to see Rick and Evie again, and to get Brendan and Rachel back in the saddle," Bettinelli-Olpin told The Wrap earlier this year.
The film is scheduled for release on October 15, 2027.
