Gore Verbinski, who directed three Pirates of the Caribbean films, The Ring, and the animated feature Rango (winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature), has signed with WME for representation in all areas, according to Deadline.

The signing follows a notable industry reentry. Verbinski's most recent feature, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die, opened via Briarcliff Entertainment in February 2026. The film is a science fiction satire set in a Los Angeles diner, where a visitor from the future rallies a group of patrons against the unregulated rise of AI. Starring Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Zazie Beetz, Michael Peña, and Juno Temple, it earned strong reviews upon release.

Verbinski offered a statement on the move: "I am thoroughly psyched to be joining this exceptional team of creative and forward-thinking professionals who share my passion for original and compelling stories."

His films have collectively grossed more than $3 billion worldwide at the global box office. After stepping away from major studio productions following The Lone Ranger, his path back to features ran through A Cure for Wellness and, more recently, the Briarcliff release. The WME signing suggests he is actively building toward his next chapter.

What that project will be remains unannounced. His filmography spans franchise action, psychological horror, animated westerns, and indie satire. WME now represents whatever comes next.
