Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened to $360 million domestically over the weekend of August 1 to 3, 2026, breaking Avengers: Endgame's seven-year record of $357.1 million. It marks the first time any film has crossed $360 million in a single domestic weekend.
Thursday previews reached $72 million, surpassing Endgame's $60 million. Friday's opening-day total hit $168 million, above Endgame's $157 million record. Worldwide, the film collected $927 million, the second-largest global opening in history, behind Endgame's $1.22 billion.
The collective domestic weekend total for all films reached $429.6 million, the highest in industry history. The previous record, also set during Endgame's opening weekend, stood at approximately $402 million.
In second place, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey added $51 million in its third weekend, bringing its domestic total to $395.5 million. Universal crossed $4 billion in worldwide grosses for 2026 on the strength of both films.
Toy Story 5 ranked third with $6.3 million, reaching $461.7 million domestically in its seventh weekend. Minions and Monsters placed fourth at $5.8 million, with a $168.4 million cumulative. Moana, Disney's live-action remake, rounded out the top five with $5.3 million, bringing its domestic total to $114.8 million.
Year-to-date domestic grosses stood at $6.19 billion as of August 2, up 15 percent from the same period in 2025, according to Deadline.
