Clayface opened to $24 million from 3,458 theaters this weekend, giving DC its second consecutive top-ten debut. It is the biggest opening since Street Fighter launched at $31 million two weekends ago.
You Can See Everything held at number two with $19.5 million in its second frame. The documentary now stands at $45.1 million domestically. For a non-fiction film, that figure is without recent precedent.
Wildwood debuted at number three with $12.3 million from 2,596 theaters. Directed by Travis Knight and produced by Laika, the stop-motion animated film arrived through Fathom Entertainment in a limited theatrical window. The opening is strong for the format.
Street Fighter fell to fourth with $8.6 million in its third weekend, bringing its domestic total to $46.9 million. Wicker opened at number five with $5.75 million from 1,471 theaters.
The top five combined for $70.1 million. Resident Evil, the season's cumulative leader, continues its run at $153.7 million total.
