HBO has named three young British actors for Season 2 of its Harry Potter series, which adapts Chamber of Secrets. Production begins this fall. Season 1 does not premiere until Christmas 2026.
Billy Barratt will play Tom Riddle, the young Voldemort whose presence defines the second book's central mystery. Barratt holds the record as the youngest winner of the International Emmy Award for Best Actor, set at age 13 for his work in Responsible Child. His credits include Bring Her Back, Invasion, and Blinded by the Light.
Lenny Rush has been cast as Dobby, the house-elf whose digital rendering was one of the original films' signature technical challenges. Rush is known to British audiences through Am I Being Unreasonable? and Enola Holmes 2.
Bonnie Hill takes over the role of Ginny Weasley beginning with Season 2. Gracie Cochrane, who filmed Season 1, exits due to what the production described as "unforeseen circumstances." That departure was announced before Season 1 has aired.
The three castings follow Kit Harington's arrival as Gilderoy Lockhart, who replaced Nicholas Hoult in August due to scheduling conflicts. HBO greenlit Season 2 in May 2026. Season 1 premieres Christmas 2026.
