Farid Elhami was born on 12 April 1980 in Sahneh (Kermanshah province). His grandfather alive Seyyed Ayaz Qazvinehei was among the professor and stylists musician of Tanbour. His father Seyyed Hejabuddin was one of the leading directors of the theater of Kermanshah province. Tanbour has been inherited from the ten generations in this family ever since. At the age of seven, with the encouragement of her mother, he began playing setar, through his cousins, Seyyed Safeddin, and Seyyed Wahhab, and at the same time, he began to learn the Magham of Tanbour through his grandfather.
