Maissa Lihedheb (born 1993) is a filmmaker and film curator. She focuses on portraying marginalized groups and giving a voice to the voiceless in society through the medium of film. She was born in Germany as the daughter of Tunisian immigrants. Maisa studied media and entertainment management and wrote her dissertation on "Symbolic annihilation in mass media and its impact on the identity of first-generation immigrants." She is also a co-founder of BIPoC Film Society, a dynamic Berlin-based platform that aims to promote intersectionality and representation within industries that are fast tokenizing us and annihilating our stories all the faster. BIPoC Film Society is a collective that seeks to change the traditionally white, male, and heteronormative narratives of film and film criticism.
