Katherine Propper is a film director and screenwriter who was born and raised in Los Angeles. Her debut feature film, Lost Soulz, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was released in theaters in 2024 by Kino Lorber. Her short film, BIRDS, garnered significant acclaim, winning the Grand Jury Prize at AFI Fest, a Special Jury Award for Vision at SXSW, and a Special Jury Prize in the International Competition at Clermont-Ferrand in France. Additionally, "Birds" was recognized as a finalist for The Wrap’s Shortlist and subsequently featured in The New Yorker, earning a nomination as one of Short of the Week’s Best Live Action Shorts of 2023.
