Nuno Escudeiro (1986, Portugal) is an Italy-based filmmaker and media artist with an MA in Media Studies from the University of Aveiro, Portugal and a specialization in Documentary Film Directing from ZeLIG - School for Documentary, Italy. His work focuses on politicized landscapes and the exploration of the idiosyncrasies of territories and populations affected by transformative events such as migration and climate change. His debut feature documentary The Valley (2019) received the Emerging International Filmmaker Award at Hot Docs Toronto and the Reporters Sans Frontières Award at FIGRA and was screened internationally in collaboration with the United Nations Human Rights Council, Arte, Public Sénat, International Commission of Jurists, among others.
