Hồng Đào is a Vietnamese American actress and comedian who has worked both in the United States and Vietnam. Originally from Buôn Ma Thuột, Vietnam, she attended and trained at the University of Ho Chi Minh's Academy of Dramatic & Theatrical Arts and afterward became widely known for her work in Vietnam as a comedic performer in the 1980s both on stage and on screen. During the mid-1990s, Hồng Đào resettled in San Jose, California, United States. She grew to prominence among Vietnamese-speaking audiences globally through her live-staged comedy work with US-based Vietnamese-language variety shows for Van Son Entertainment, Thuy Nga Productions's Paris by Night, and Asia Entertainment.
