Born in Santa Iria de Azóia, in the outskirts of Lisbon, Portugal (November 1977). Completed a degree in Communication Sciences/Film at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Nova University of Lisbon (FCSH/NOVA). Has directed two documentaries about Portuguese artists, produced by FCSH/NOVA’s Laboratory of Cinematographic Creation (LABCC) and funded by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation: Fernando Calhau – Work in Progress (2001) and Out of the Nature of Things (2003), about the sculptor Carlos Nogueira. Attended the Gulbenkian Creativity and Artistic Creation Programme’s Filmmaking Course and Cinema Scriptwriting Course, both organized in association with The London Film School.
