In high school, he formed the band "Death" with his classmate Kyosuke Himuro and others[1][Note 3]. In 1979, the band won a prize in the East West contest. Scouted by Being and moved to Tokyo, but "Death" will not debut, and the band will be disintegrated in the air[Note 4]. In 1980, Tetsuro Oda's band "Tetsuro Oda & 9th IMAGE" joined as a bassist and made his professional debut[2], Disbanded due to discord between members[3 ]。
