Eva Stefani is director of documentaries and short experimental films. She was born in the USA and lives in Athens. She has directed over 30 films, ranging from ethnographic to experimental cinema. Her work has been screened at many festivals around the world, winning international awards (Oberhausen, Cinéma du Réel, FIPRESCI, etc.), while film festivals such as the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival and L’Europe autour de l’Europe and universities such as New York University and Columbia in New York have organized tributes to her work. Since 2000, she has participated in international art exhibitions, most notably documenta14 and the Venice Biennale. Her latest art work, entitled “The Luminous Cave”, is an installation commissioned by EMST, as part of the exhibition series “What if Women Ruled the World?”.
