He has been married to Isabel Abreu since January 1, 2001. They have two children, Tiago and Maria. He's the younger brother of Rodrigo Guedes de Carvalho and he's son of Rodrigo Jorge Ferreira Guedes de Carvalho and wife. His father is a first cousin of Paula Guedes.
