Quentin Tarantino appeared on The Graham Norton Show this week and confirmed he has finished writing his tenth and final film. "I've written a script that I really like," he said, "but I want to do the play and see who I am." No title, no cast, no studio.

Before any of that, London. Tarantino is staging The Popinjay Cavalier, a swashbuckling comedy starring Sacha Baron Cohen, at the Phoenix Theatre in the West End. Previews begin February 23, 2027; opening night is March 18. The run closes June 13. He told Norton it began as a screenplay before he decided it belonged onstage.

After the play, he says he wants to spend time with his family and "live a little." The tenth film comes after that.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) is counted as his ninth. It earned ten Oscar nominations. Earlier, he had spent years developing The Movie Critic, a 1970s period piece about a film critic, before abandoning it in 2024. Whatever he has written now, it is a fresh start.

He has said for years that ten films is his final count. By the time this one reaches theaters, it will likely have been close to a decade since his last one.
