Peter Parker's world is still strange. In the years since No Way Home erased his identity from public memory, he has been fighting alone, watching MJ and Ned move on without him. That isolation is the engine of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Destin Daniel Cretton's MCU entry, opening July 31.
Sony Pictures released the film's final trailer on July 21. Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner, now in a Savage Hulk state. Jon Bernthal appears as the Punisher. Sadie Sink's role remains officially unnamed; speculation has landed on Jean Grey, which would mark the MCU's first on-screen introduction of the X-Men mutant.
The trailer lays out two interlocking threats: an invisible villain targeting New York, and Peter's own DNA mutating in ways he cannot control. The official synopsis frames this as a transformation he "may not be able to control," which the trailer treats as the film's central anxiety.
Written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers and produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Rachel O'Connor, Brand New Day carries a PG-13 rating. Early domestic tracking, per Looper, puts the opening weekend between $212 million and $255 million.
