The full trailer for Runner is here. Alan Ritchson plays Hank Malone, a former soldier turned delivery courier in Brisbane, Australia, who accepts a high-stakes job transporting a liver to a critically ill child. When a cartel identifies the organ as a black-market asset, Malone teams up with fellow courier Ben Bishop, played by Owen Wilson, and a three-hour window becomes something far more dangerous.
Directed by Scott Waugh (Expend4bles), from a screenplay by Miles Hubley and Tommy White, the film leans into the odd-couple pairing of Ritchson's military physicality and Wilson's looser comic register. Ritchson also serves as a producer alongside Mark Fasano, Todd Garner, Deborah Glover, and Jeffrey Greenstein. The supporting cast includes Rodrigo Santoro, Leila George, Adriana Barraza, and Sullivan Stapleton.
Runner opens in U.S. theaters September 11, 2026, distributed by Angel Studios. The release marks a meaningful turn for the company, which built its theatrical footprint on faith-adjacent titles like Sound of Freedom and Cabrini. This is Angel Studios' first R-rated theatrical release. VVS Films handles Canadian distribution.
Filmed on location in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Runner arrives as Ritchson continues building his action career between seasons of Reacher on Prime Video.
