Rosalind Eleazar received the TIFF Tribute Performer Award on September 13 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, honoring her lead performance in Misty Green, the new film written and directed by Chris Rock.
Misty Green marks Eleazar's first lead film role. She plays the title character: a once-celebrated actress in Los Angeles whose career has stalled, scrambling to find housing and land an audition as a countdown runs through the film. The ensemble also includes Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, and Topher Grace, with Rock appearing in a supporting role. A24 has set a theatrical release for October 9, 2026.
Eleazar, 38, built more than a decade of strong supporting work before this role. She is best known internationally as MI5 officer Louisa Guy in Slow Horses, the Apple TV+ series that ran from 2022 to 2025, and earned a Royal Television Society Award for the 2025 Netflix thriller Missing You. She has attended TIFF twice before: with The Personal History of David Copperfield in 2019 and Rose of Nevada in 2025.
"What drew me to her is that I find people who are seemingly unlovable fascinating," Eleazar told the Associated Press. On landing the role: "I knew I was going to do whatever I could to get it. Whatever was in my control."
Isabelle Huppert also received the TIFF Tribute Performer Award at the September 13 ceremony. Other honorees included Penélope Cruz (Special Tribute) and Siân Heder (Tribute Award in Impact Media). Misty Green opens in theaters nationwide on October 9.
