Rain Spencer has joined the cast of The Maid of Orleans, per Deadline. The Sarah Elizabeth Mintz film, already announced with Maude Apatow and Mike Faist in lead roles, has also added Amira Casar and Stefan Crepon. A seven-week shoot is underway in Paris and southern France.
Mintz wrote and directed the film, her second feature. The plot follows a young woman hired as assistant to a famously difficult director staging a French production of Joan of Arc. Astute Films is financing the project. Mintz produces alongside Shuli Harel and Jeff David.
Spencer and Mintz previously worked together on Good Girl Jane, which premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival. Spencer won Best Actress in a U.S. Narrative Feature Film for the role. The casting is a reunion, and it completes an ensemble that spans television, theater, and independent film. Faist is coming off Netflix*s East of Eden. Apatow made her directorial debut earlier this year with Poetic License.
No release timeline has been announced.
