The Little 500 bicycle race at Indiana University is one of the most storied traditions in American collegiate sport. For most of the race's history, the competition was limited to men. Little Five, a new feature from Anne Hathaway's Somewhere Pictures, is set among the women who fought for entry.

Rain Spencer (The Summer I Turned Pretty) and Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie) have been set to lead the film, according to Deadline. Ian Samuels will direct from a screenplay by Gillian Williams and Paul Shoulberg. The story is set at Indiana University in the early 1980s, inspired by the women who fought for a place in one of America's most recognized collegiate sporting traditions.

The project is produced by Somewhere Pictures and Pigasus Pictures. Per the announcement, the film captures "an era defined by big dreams, bigger risks, unforgettable music, and the women who helped redefine collegiate athletics." The story traces what happens when athletes push for a tradition that was never built to include them.

Spencer appeared in The Summer I Turned Pretty across two seasons on Amazon Prime Video. Greenblatt co-starred in Barbie and led the science-fiction survival film 65. Additional casting and a production timeline have not been announced.
