Project Hail Mary arrives on Prime Video on July 3, 105 days after its March 15 theatrical opening. Amazon MGM Studios' interstellar drama earned over $683 million worldwide and ranked third at the 2026 domestic box office, according to Screen Rant, behind The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Michael.

Ryan Gosling plays Ryland Grace, a middle school teacher and former molecular biologist who wakes aboard a spacecraft with no memory, slowly piecing together that he is the last survivor of a crew sent to prevent a solar cooling event threatening Earth. The film's emotional weight comes from his relationship with Rocky, an alien creature performed on set by puppeteer James Ortiz.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directed from a screenplay by Drew Goddard, based on Andy Weir's novel of the same name. The supporting cast includes Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, Milana Vayntrub, and Priya Kansara. The film carried a production budget of $248 million and drew wide critical praise.

Prime Video subscribers can begin streaming July 3. The film had already arrived on MGM+ on June 18, but the Prime Video window marks its first appearance on the platform's flagship streaming service.
