Paul Thomas Anderson shot and directed Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall, a concert film documenting the Geese frontman's sold-out solo performance at Carnegie Hall on December 11, 2025. Janus Films and Criterion have acquired North American rights. The world premiere is set for October 1 at Alice Tully Hall at the New York Film Festival, with Anderson and Winter in attendance.
Anderson directed and shot the film on 35mm and 16mm. Winter's set was stripped down: a solo piano performance of his own compositions. The music was recorded and produced by Ariel Rechtshaid, known for Grammy-winning work with Vampire Weekend and Adele. The film is co-produced by Benny Safdie, alongside Sara Murphy, Erica Frauman, and Maggie Ambrose.
A 35mm theatrical roadshow launches November 20 in New York and Los Angeles, expanding to more than 20 cities across the U.S. and Canada through January 2027. Tickets go on sale September 17. A companion live album, Live at Carnegie Hall, releases October 9 on Partisan Records and Play It Again Sam, featuring three previously unreleased songs from the December 11 performance.
Winter released his solo album Heavy Metal in 2024 and fronts the rock band Geese. Anderson's previous film, One Battle After Another, came out in 2025. Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall extends a working relationship between Anderson and the music world that has included Thom Yorke's Anima and a run of Haim music videos.
