The full trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn's Her Private Hell landed on June 30, 2026, giving audiences their sharpest look yet at the director's return to features after a decade away. Neon will release the film across 800 to 1,200 U.S. screens beginning July 24.

Her Private Hell stars Sophie Thatcher as Elle, a troubled young woman who searches for her missing father after a mysterious mist engulfs a futuristic metropolis and releases something lethal. The cast includes Charles Melton, Havana Rose Liu, Kristine Froseth, Diego Calva, Dougray Scott, Shioli Kutsuna, Aoi Yamada, Hidetoshi Nishijima, and Parker Sawyers. Refn co-wrote the screenplay with Esti Giordani. Magnus Nordenhof Jønck shot the film; Pino Donaggio provides the score in his first collaboration with the director.

Principal photography ran for 57 days in Copenhagen between May and July 2025. The 109-minute film is produced through Refn's company byNWR and financed by Neon, which holds U.S. distribution rights. Mubi has acquired rights for the UK, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and Latin America.

Her Private Hell had its world premiere out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2026, where it received a 12-minute standing ovation. Critical reception has been mixed: the film holds a 44 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes from 27 reviews and a 38 out of 100 on Metacritic. It is Refn's first theatrical feature since The Neon Demon in 2016.
