Forty years after a Central Park murder captivated America, Kit Connor and Diana Silvers step into the roles that defined a generation's anxiety about class.

Kit Connor and Diana Silvers are set to topline PRƎPPY, a true crime film from director Janicza Bravo that revisits the 1986 Central Park murder that became known as the Preppy Killer case.

The film dramatizes the summer of 1986, leading to the killing of Jennifer Levin, a recent high school graduate, by Robert Chambers, a former Manhattan private school student, in Central Park. The case drew national attention for what it exposed about privilege, class, and gender. The trial still resonates.

The screenplay is by David Levine and Rose Lichter-Marck. Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, and John Buderwitz produce for Aggregate Films, with Peter Coleman and Paula Manzanedo producing for STX Entertainment. Bravo also produces. Production is set to begin September 21 in New York City, according to Deadline.

For Connor, the project arrives at a pivotal moment. The British actor broke out in Netflix's Heartstopper and recently joined Marvel's X-Men reboot as Cyclops alongside Sadie Sink and Inde Navarrette. PRƎPPY marks a considerably darker register. Silvers recently wrapped Asymmetry, Ed Zwick's film with Richard Gere.

Bravo brings a precise eye to charged material. Her previous film, Zola (2021), adapted a viral Twitter thread with formal ingenuity, and she received a DGA Award nomination for her work on FX's The Bear. A case study in media frenzy and class mythology feels like a natural next move.
