Kid Cudi is preparing to shoot a second feature as director before his debut film, Doe, has reached an audience. According to Deadline, Cudi announced this week that the next film will begin production in a matter of weeks, with a 2027 release intended.

Doe is an addiction drama set over 24 consecutive hours, following a man experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. Cudi writes, directs, and stars in the film alongside Mark Webber, Leah McNamara, Brandon Scott, and Brandon Perea. He is also composing original music for the project. Doe is also expected in 2027.

The second film, which Cudi described to Deadline as "f*ckin gnarly," operates in horror and comedy. Cast and plot details have not been shared.

The pace is notable. Musicians who move into directing tend to take a single project approach, waiting for one film to establish its standing before committing to another. Cudi is not doing that. The second feature is already moving, with the first still on the way. Whether Doe becomes the credential or not, the follow is already in motion.
