"Gods Don't Give Gifts," the AI-generated anthology feature from YouTube creator Zack London and Fable Studio, has moved its U.S. theatrical release from October 30 to December 4, according to Variety. The studio is also pursuing a Best Animated Feature Oscar bid.

The film collects four AI-generated short films into a single feature. Its stories trace what humanity gains and loses when technology removes the limits of death, memory, and time. London made the project with Fable Studio, led by CEO Edward Saatchi and backed by Amazon's Alexa Fund, with a team of 10 artists over two months.

London built his audience through his YouTube channel Gossip Goblin, where 1.4 million subscribers have watched over a billion AI-generated science fiction shorts. He cast real voice actors for all character performances, using AI tools for the visuals. "This would not get greenlit," London said. "It would be too expensive, and it would be too weird, and it would be too out there."

Pushing the release to December positions the film within the Academy's eligibility window for the current awards cycle. According to Variety, the first trailer is set to debut in theaters this Friday. If the Academy accepts the submission, "Gods Don't Give Gifts" would be the first fully AI-generated feature to enter Best Animated Feature consideration.
