Eight years on from Hollywood, Cliff Booth has a new title, a new decade, and David Fincher at the helm.

The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth now has a name.

Netflix confirmed the title for David Fincher's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood follow-up, along with a two-window release plan: an exclusive IMAX theatrical run beginning November 25, followed by a Netflix debut on December 23.

Brad Pitt returns as Cliff Booth, the stuntman role that earned him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the 2019 film. The new story advances the timeline eight years to 1977, placing the character in a transformed Hollywood. The ensemble includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Peter Weller.

Tarantino wrote the screenplay but stepped aside from the director's chair. He has said he intends his next directorial effort to be his last, and did not want that film to be a sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. That decision brought Fincher in, a director with a longer track record with Pitt than almost anyone: Se7en in 1995, Fight Club in 1999, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in 2008.

The IMAX window positions the film alongside major studio tentpoles this Thanksgiving. Netflix has used theatrical runs for prestige titles before, but rarely at this scale heading into awards season.
