The domestic box office for the weekend of August 21-23, 2026 cleared $100 million across its top five titles, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day claiming first place for the fourth consecutive weekend.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned $39 million in its fourth frame, bringing its domestic cumulative to $854.9 million. The film declined roughly 45% from the previous weekend but held firm against the weekend's only major new release.
Insidious: Out of the Further, the sixth entry in the Blumhouse horror franchise, opened to $25.3 million in 3,303 theaters domestically. Directed by Jacob Chase and starring Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, and Lin Shaye, the film launched to $60.3 million globally. International markets accounted for 58% of that total. Sony produced the sequel on a reported budget of $18 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey finished third with $19.5 million, raising its domestic total to $539 million. PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie and David Robert Mitchell's The End of Oak Street each added roughly $9 million, bringing their respective domestic totals to $35.4 million and $37.7 million.
