An $87M second weekend translates to a 30% drop from its $124M opening, which Variety reports is the third-best retention rate ever for a film that debuted above $100M, behind only Wicked and Top Gun: Maverick. Among R-rated films, it's the second-best second weekend on record, behind Deadpool & Wolverine's $97M in 2024. The Odyssey now stands at $286M domestic and $639M worldwide, with $140M of that total from IMAX.
Toy Story 5 crossed $1 billion globally this weekend. The Pixar sequel has earned $448M in the U.S. and $573M internationally, becoming the third film to reach the milestone in 2026, following The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Michael.
Hadestown: The Musical debuted at #4 with $9.7M from 1,949 theaters. The filmed Broadway production was originally scheduled for a five-day theatrical window. Distributors Crosswalk, LD Entertainment, and Bleecker Street are extending the run following the opening results.
Disney's Moana held at #2 with $10.5M in its third weekend, pushing its domestic total to $102M.
