Wild Horse Nine, his fifth feature, competes for the Golden Lion at Venice on September 3. Sam Rockwell plays Lee, a CIA operative paired with John Malkovich's veteran agent Chris, dispatched to Easter Island in the days before Chile's 1973 coup. Steve Buscemi, Parker Posey, Tom Waits, and Chilean actors Mariana Di Girolamo and Ailín Salas complete the ensemble. Blueprint Pictures and Film4 produced. Searchlight Pictures distributes. Theatrical release: November 2026.
