Alejandro González Iñárritu has always been interested in the same problem: what a person owes the world after they have broken something that could not be fixed. His debut arrived with a car crash and never fully let go of that logic.
The four films below trace that question across geography, genre, and register. They move from Mexico City to the Moroccan desert to a Manhattan stage, each one tightening the argument. They arrive in release order. The destination opens at the end of September.
